NEVER A HUNDRED miles north of Navoho and during the White Civil War, the Santee Sioux tribe lost their homeland forever. The Santee tribe has four branches - Mdewkanton, Wahpeton, Wahpekute, and Sisseton. They were forest Sioux people but attached to and shared a strong tribal pride with their blood brothers who lived in their pastures, Yankton and Teton. Santee people are "people at the far end," the border guards of the Sioux territory.
