Hideyoshi. Hideyoshi brought Sengoku Hidehisa to Shikoku to be Hideyoshi's messenger, essentially restraining Motochika. In May 1584, Hideyoshi ordered the general attack on Shikoku. Hashiba Hidenaga brought 60000 troops with 30000 Mori troops to land on Shikoku Island. The Chosokabe family that ruled this small and poor Shikoku island was not strong enough to fight such a large army, so Motochika asked for goods. Hideyoshi was generous, Motochika was in full life and kept Tosa province.
